Why automate the analysis of accident photos?

Unlike forms or administrative documents, the information expected from a claim photo (type of claim, nature of the damage, severity, chronological consistency, etc.) is not written down: it must be deduced through visual analysis. Variable image quality and the diversity of situations make human analysis time-consuming, subjective, and difficult to automate.

In just a few years, image manipulation has increased dramatically: falsified photos are becoming increasingly difficult for the human eye to distinguish, while consumer-grade generative AI tools are making it ever easier and more accessible to create forgeries.
